PCA - 2

This picture shows a difference in perspectives. They both depict the same situation, but with different people. This cartoon was of interest to me because I think that perspective is one of the most important things in life, and how being unaware of other people's perspectives can often make an individual seem ignorant. The situation shown in this cartoon could affect me, because people around me might be judging me based on certain factors, like my clothing, and I might do the same.

Political Cartoons Assignment. - 1

This cartoon is a depiction of the difference between the image most people associate with Jesus Christ and the one which actual facts would form. Most pictorial documentations of "The Messiah", such as the The Last Supper by Leonardo de Vinci, show him to be a Caucasian male in fine robes. This would be the "Hysterical" version. The one most likely influenced by the prejudice/racism of those times, which caused the disbelief that anything good (like the focal point of the dominant religion) could be anything other than an example of the "blonde-haired, blue-eyed" ideal.
This cartoon interested me because I enjoy discovering societal contradictions.
The impact this might have on me is that I think that whatever motivates and perpetuates the "Hysterical Jesus" while discouraging the "Historical" one, is what fuels the inequality existent in society today. That inequality could hold me back personally.
